I took the young folk who I mentor up to Minyon Falls to explore the scribbly pathways of the Scribbly Gum Moth this week. With ancient ties to Gondwana Land this moth is the Australian bush graffiti artist.

Upon pondering the scribbles and the transitions expressed within I see a beautiful story concept that is being birthed. As the Scribbly Gum Moth does, and as humans do we have a journey in our early years, of lefts and rights, successes and learnings, and trials and tribulations. And as the Scribbly Gum Moth does if we stay true to our inner calling we eventually birth wings that help us fly into the world leaving our imprint, or our scribble, upon the world for many generations to come.

It’s the scribbling, and the zig-zagging of experiences, the trying new ways, the stepping away from our parents’ ways eventually in adolescence that allows us to support the shedding of the bark of old cultural ways that are no longer serving humanity and fly in a new direction.

I look forward to delving deeper into this storyline in times to come.
