This is a non-exhaustive list of original seasonal stories that foster practices to better relate to self, other and Earth. Imbued with ancient wisdom and ecological education they are designed to entertain and educate young people about their local surroundings and foster positive life skills. Echidna Wakes Up Spikey – An original story about following your heart and the richnes of local surroundings. Touches on not persuading others, kindness when mistakes are made, use of technology + power of advertising. 

Sea Hibiscus Shines The Sun – This original story for all ages focuses on interspecies communication, deep listening and the healing properties of Sea Hibiscus. It touches on patience, stillness, awareness, growing older, communicating gratitude and ones ability to impact others through words of acknowledgement. Accompanied by the song ‘Sun Sun Inside of Me.’ 

Lomandra Holds Strong & Goanna Active – This original story for all ages focuses on local indigenous wisdom and the characteristics of this plant/animal species. It touches on letting go of things that are no longer needed, dream wisdom and Bundjalung language. Accompanies by the song ‘Letting Go.’

Together Together & The Sun Egg – An original story of working together to accomplish tasks and not rushing. Touches on asking for help, assessing before jumping in, unique characteristics of individuals, how doing good for others is often returned and supporting others. Suitable for Summer Solstice. Accompanied by two songs – ‘Together Together’ and “Rush Fuss’,

Lyre Bird Listens – An original story about displacement and listening to inner wisdom to find the path back home. Touches on being led astray by others and/or environmental impacts. Accompanied by the song ‘My Heart is Made for Knowing’.

Macadamia Brings Everyone Home – An original story about listening to elders, acknowledging the unseen realms and the importance of family. Touches on slow and steady practice, observation, traditional practices, cycle of life. Accompanied by the song ‘Together Together.’

Turmeric Warms The Inside Sun – An original story about ritual, cycles and prayers. Touches on intergenerational wisdom, trying new things, gardening and soil health. 

Bleeding Heart Seeds The Return to Love – An original story about telling stories, expressing oneself and natures messages. Touches on moving houses, rushing, regeneration of soil, heart opening, communication, settling into new places. Accompanied by the song ‘My Heart is Made for Knowing’

Coastal Wattle Lights Up The Landscape – An original story about play, persistence, seasonal changes and cycles. Touches on problem solving, trying new things, being different to others. 

Kookaburra Sings The Change – An original story about honouring feelings, allowing endings and the cycles of life. Touches on parental insights, wise communication, elderhood, seeking support from others.

Macaranga The Mighty – An original story about stillness, other-than-human relationships and relationship to surroundings. Touches on diversity, bird recognition, sit spots, energetics, good things coming out of ‘bad’ situations.

The Golden Threads – An original story about dealing with the nature of others, accepting others faults, interconnectivity and being adaptable. Touches on dealing with frustration, remembering the unity of all, and the messages within dreams. 

Queen Bea Prepares to Swarm – An original story about the wisdom within a bee hive, the roles different bees play, and collective decision making. Touches on cycles of life, patterns, bee communication. Accompanied by song ‘Little Bee.’

Water Dragon Dreaming The Summer Rains – An original story about difference and particularly different visual appearances of people/animals. Touches on relationship to nature, food, dreaming, mythology, cycles of nature.  

Mullet Takes a Courageous Leap – An original story about respecting others needs and acting kindly. Touches on understanding others, the cycles of nature and making new friends. Accompanied by the song ‘My Mind is Made for Wondering’. 

Blue Bottles Cresty Hairdo – An original story about cosmology, attraction resulting in creation and the patterns of animal bodies. Touches on astrology, togetherness, and difference. 

Under My Wing – An original story about relocation and unexpected outcomes of seed dispersal. Touches on changing environments, native vs other plants and interconnectivity. 

The Hungry Magpie & GrandFather Thunder – An original story about ritual, intergenerational wisdom and the cycles of nature. Accompanied by the song ‘The Sound of Thunder’

Gary Gets A Drum – An original story about prayer, dream visions and cicada behaviour. Touches on creation, intentions, the power of the heart.

Blind Man & The Hunter – West Africa – A story about not underestimating those different to us, deep listening, intuition and truthfulness. Touches on sensory abilities, kindness, persistence, judging others.

The Seed of Honesty – Chinese – A story about being honest, trying despite all odds. Touches on intergenerational wisdom, trickery and plant communication.

The Eagle Chicken – Origin Unknown – A story about following inherent qualities and arising feelings, not following the actions of others.

The Blind Men & The Elephant – A story about perspective, imagination, assumptions and judgement.

Maggots & Gold – A story about all of us having golden qualities and aspects that require cleaning and clearing, and a communities role to support a person in seeing and revealing both.

A Small Gap – A story about not saving others that may lead to disempowerment. Touches on thoughtfulness, compassion, following intuition.

The Fairies Wish – A story about wise language and meeting the needs of many. Touches on mystical nature of beings, family dynamics, struggles inherent in life, nature connection, listening to internal wisdom, taking time to consider and listen deeply.

Puss In Boots – A rewilded extended and original modern version of an old Italian folktale. Touches on generational change of circumstances, external vs internal wealth, deception and trickery, redundant traditions, simplicity vs complexity, friendship vs fame, family ties.

Ivan The Bears Son – A rewilded version of a transitionary tales through the phases of life, from youth, to adult to elderhood. From heat, to sobreness to empathy. Podhe and The Holy Hills – Mayan – Teenage and Older – A story about coming of age and seeking out inner gifts that are your birth right. About not following others but seeking wisdom from inside the self.
